Policies

“Retreat” “Workshop” “Holiday” and “Travel Arrangement” refers to the services we have agreed to provide to you or provide with you under your booking with us.

 “You” and “Your” this refers to you, the person that has made the booking and entered the contract with us.

 “We” “Us” and “Our” refers to us, Goddess Temple Retreats.

 “Arrival date” this means the agreed date, in your contract that the service we have greed is due to start.

 Your Retreat Contract - 

When you make a booking with Goddess Temple Retreats, you are making an agreement that you have authority to accept, the terms of these Booking Conditions.

You are also agreeing that you are over 21 years of age at the time of the booking.

A contract will exist as soon as we issue a Booking Confirmation Receipt.

We reserve the right to refuse to accept any bookings in our absolute discretion without stating the reason for doing so.

Booking and cost of the retreat -

Goddess Temple Retreats money rates are in GBP per person.

After you receive a confirmation email, a non-refundable deposit of 10% is required for our retreats in Egypt within 48 hours of booking. If this is not received your place on the retreat will be offered to someone else.

Once you have secured your place you can either pay for you retreat in full or split it across monthly payment. We will arrange and agree a payment plan with you if you choose to spread the cost.

All payments must be made via payment link, paypal or bank transfer. We also suggest paying for your retreat using a credit card, this also gives you an extra layer of protection when booking with us. Please note that paying via PayPal may have additional fees, as can bank transfer from overseas. The additional fees are not included in the price of the retreat. You are responsible for paying these fees to make sure the correct amount for your retreat is received. 

Please read through the policies before paying your non-refundable deposit. When paying the deposit, you are agreeing to our contract and as per our policies agreeing to pay a non-refundable deposit.

The cost of the retreat in Egypt will depend on the package you select. You will be given package options at the time of booking and be given the cost of the package once the booking is made.

We reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the retreats shown on our website. You will be advised of the current price of the retreat you wish to book before your contract is confirmed.

Minimum Numbers -

Some of the retreats on our website can only be operated if there is sufficient demand for the same retreat and a sufficient number of people book these retreat packages.

If there is insufficient demand on subsequent confirmed bookings, we have the right to cancel the retreat in question. If we have to do so, we will notify you as soon as possible. In this situation, you will then have the choice of accepting an alternative retreat of equivalent or closely similar standard or the choice of a full refund of any monies you have paid to us. This excludes any costs outside of your retreat package.

When we cancel for lack of numbers, no compensation will be given and we are not responsible for any loss occurred for flight, train, car or any other booked travel before and after the agreed dates of the retreat packages. 

In the unfortunate but unlikely event that we need to cancel your retreat, due to lack of numbers, we will not do so less than 61 days before your retreat is due to start.

Refunds -

The full balance of your retreat must be paid 60 days before the retreat is due to start. If you have not paid your balance in full, you will not receive a refund or be able to attend the retreat. If you cancel 61 – 80 days before the retreat is due to start. You will be given the option of a 50% refund minus your 10% non-refundable deposit. If you cancel 80+ days before the retreat, you will be entitled to a full refund minus your 10% non-refundable deposit.

The only time you will receive your 10% non- refundable deposit back is if we have to cancel the retreat, or if you can cancelled your space and we have found a replacement to fill your space.

If we need to cancel the retreat - 

Once your booking has been confirmed, we will make every effort to provide you with the booked retreat. Occasionally, it may be necessary to amend or cancel whole or part of your booking.

If for any reason we need to cancel the retreat due to our own personal circumstances or lack of bookings, you will be entitled to a full refund including your non-refundable deposit. 

We will do our best to notify you of any alterations or cancellations as soon as we reasonably can.

Independent travel arrangements (e.g., flights, airport parking, car hire, etc.) that you have arrange separately do not form part of our contract with you. If we need to make changes to your retreat booking, we are not liable for any amendment, or any cancellation charges incurred by you in respect of any such independent travel arrangements.

In the event of hotel or accommodation cancellation -

If the hotel or accommodation we have booked for our retreat in Egypt should not be able to host us for any reason, we will do everything in our power to find a hotel of the same quality and standard. If we do not receive a refund from the cancelled hotel/ accommodation, the booking of the new hotel/ accommodation will be the responsibility of Goddess Temple Retreats ltd and we will incur the financial loss to ensure the retreat can go ahead as expected.

Leaving the retreat before the agreed end date -

If for any reason you need to leave the retreat before the agreed end of the retreat, you will not be entitled to a refund. You will also be solely responsible for finding your own way home - or wherever you need to go. We are not responsible or liable for any extra cost you incur if you must leave the retreat early.

Insurance -

When attending one of our Goddess Temple Retreats in Egypt it is mandatory to have your own travel insurance, this must be booked and paid for within 60 days of paying your deposit for the retreat. We must see your proof of insurance within 60 days of paying your booking deposit.

Please make sure your insurance policy covers you for all the relevant activities – the retreat will not have any sporting activities, but this must be included if you wish to participate in any during your free time. We cannot be held responsible for any costs you may incur because of failing to do so. Please also check that your insurance covers all medical needs.

We are not responsible for paying towards any medical bills if anything should happen while in Egypt.

 It is your responsibility to provide us with the name of your insurer, policy number and 24-hour emergency help line number in the event it is needed at any point.

While on the retreat, we hold no liability for any mishap, theft. If you do not provide proof of your insurance for the retreat, your booking will be cancelled, and your space will be offered to someone else. Having your own insurance also means, if there is war, riots, fires, natural or manmade disaster or any such advent meaning the retreat cannot go ahead at the originally planned date and time, you are covered by your insurance to get the cost of your flights and travel back. If the retreat hasn't started before an event happens that means the retreat cannot go ahead, we will refund you minus your 10% non-refundable deposit.

Health and Safety Standards - 

You must be made aware that the health and safety standards, and requirements, of the country we are holding our retreat in may be different to the country that you come from. The standards of the country we will be holding the retreat in will sometimes have lower health and safety standards. We cannot be held responsible for any losses that incur due to issues surrounding health and safety.

Medical -

When making the booking with us, you must provide us with full details of any existing medical condition or disability this includes existing medical or physical problems, including pregnancy, unusual height, or weight, physical and/or mental disability that may affect your ability to take part in the retreat. If in our reasonable opinion your chosen retreat is not suitable for your medical needs or disability, we have the right to refuse to accept the booking. If you fail to provide us with full details of your medical condition or disability, we reserve the right to cancel the booking when we find out full details of your medical condition or disability, if in our reasonable opinion the travel arrangements are not suitable. If we cancel your booking due to you not informing us of your medical condition or disability, we will cancel your retreat arrangements and keep any number of monies that have already been paid to us, and we will not be liable for any losses for third party expenditure such as travel arrangements or compensation arising.

Activities while on the retreat may require a degree of physical fitness. There will be quite a lot of walking long distances involved, as well as yoga and dancing. The Yoga and Dancing is optional but you will have to do lots of walking to take part in activies such as seeing temples and other sacred sites. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have the levels of physical fitness required for you to participate in any activity that you choose. Many places have very uneven flooring so you must be stable on your feet and be able to walk unsupported. If you are in any doubt about your levels of fitness, please consult your doctor before departure. If you join our retreat and we reasonably believe that in the interests of your health, you should not take part in any activities, you will be asked to no take part and could be asked to leave the retreat, we will not be liable for any losses or compensation arising.

If a new illness or disability should arise after booking with us or your preexisting illness or disability should get worse after booking with us, you must promptly inform us of any adverse change. If we find it in our reasonable opinion to cancel the booking because of this, we refund you as per our refund policies, we will not be liable for any losses or compensation arising.

Our Liability to You - 

Goddess Temple Retreats agree to provide the retreat agree that makes up your booking with us, with care and reasonable skill. If for any unfortunate reason the contract you have with us is not performed or is improperly performed by us, we will pay you appropriate compensation, if we have affected your enjoyment of your retreat. We are not liable for any failure in the performance of the contract with you if this is due to:

  1. A third-party unconnected person.
  2. A third-party unconnected travel arrangement.
  3. The fault of yourself.
  4. An event that neither we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could have foreseen or forestalled.
  5. Unusual and unforeseeable circumstances, such as war, riots, natural and manmade disasters beyond our control, with consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care and been exercised.

Travel -

You are responsible for organising your travel to and from Egypt. You must meet us in Luxor on the first day of the retreat. Please discuss this with us so we can make arrangements to collect you from the airport or where ever you may be in Luxor. We are not responsible for paying for or organising any of the travel to and from Egypt. This must be organised and paid for by you. We are not responsible or liable for any missed flight or delays in travel. If Your flight is missed or delayed, we will do our best to help with any issues. We will provide all travel in Egypt while you are on the Goddess Temple Retreat. We will pick you up from the airport and take you back to the airport once the retreat has finished.

Passport and Visa –

We are not responsible for paying for your Visa into Egypt. On entry to Egypt, they will ask for cash. They accept USD and GBP.  The would rather you paid in USD so please be prepared when entering Egypt. Please make sure you have your cash ready upon entry they do not accept card payments. The current cost of the visa is £25/$25. You are responsible for checking your passport and visa requirements to enter the county the retreat is being held in. We do not accept any responsibility if you cannot travel, if you have not complied with the relevant requirements in force prior to and at the time of travel.

Spending money -

Tipping money for staff in hotels, on boats, in Temple, entrance guards and restaurants will be paid by us, but if you feel the need to tip any extra, please feel free to do so. You will still need to tip people every now and then. A prime example is when you need to use the toilet, you must tip on the door in exchange for toilet paper and access into the bathroom. You are only expected to tip approximately 10 – 20LE (this is the equivalent of about 30p) when using the bathroom, so always make sure you have small amounts of money on you. You are responsible for your spending money while you are in Egypt. We do not supply this!

We do not supply shopping money or money for anything extra that you would like to do. Please check the legal amount of money that you are allowed to bring into the country. For the best exchange rates, we often withdraw money in Egypt, but you should always check with your bank first to see what fees they may charge. We use Monzo banking and find these the best for travel (We are in no way advertising or saying you should use Monzo banking, this is just who we use and find the best). 

Food -

We will provide Breakfast, lunch and dinner. You are responsible for any snacks you might like to eat. Each meal will also have a budget to ensure that spending is done equally from person to person.

You will be provided unlimited bottled water throughout your retreat in Egypt.

We do ask that limited alcohol is consumed on the retreat, this is due to the nature of the retreat and some days requiring early starts. However, plenty of downtime is included in the itinerary, with beautiful locations for the occasional sundowner. If you do choose to drink, we ask that you are respectful of where you are, the people around you.

Age limits –

We ask that everyone that attends the retreat in Egypt is over the age of 21. We cannot facilitate anyone under the age of 21 at this moment in time.

Entry into Temples and sacred sites -

We will pay for your entry into the agreed Temples, Museums and Sacred sites. If you would like to do the extras, you are responsible for paying for this and we are not responsible for reimbursing you. For example – We will pay your entry into the valley of the Kings but if you would like to visit Tutankhamun’s tomb or Seti the 1st tomb these cost extra and must be paid for by you.

WE RESURVE THE RIGHT TO REVIEW AND CHANGE OUR POLICIES AT ANY TIME.

 Your Workshop Contract -

All payments must be made via bank transfer or via PayPal secure payment. Please note that paying via PayPal may have additional fees, as can bank transfer from overseas. The additional fees are not included in the price of the retreat. You are responsible for paying these fees to make sure the correct amount for your workshop is received.

Cost of the workshop - 

The cost of the workshops in the UK will depend on the workshop you select.

We reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the workshops shown on our website. You will be advised of the current price of the workshop you wish to book before your contract is confirmed.

In the unfortunate but unlikely event that we need to cancel your workshop, due to lack of numbers, we will not do so less than 7 days before your workshop is due to start.

Refunds -

The full balance of your workshop must be paid 30 days before the workshop is due to start. If you have not paid your balance in full, you will not receive a refund or be able to attend the retreat. If you cancel 31-40 days before the workshop is due to start. You will be given the option of a 50% refund. If you cancel 41 + days before the workshop you will be entitled to a full refund minus your 25% non-refundable deposit.

If we need to cancel the workshop -

Food and drinks - During your Egyptian Goddess workshop we do not supply food. It is your responsibility to feed and water yourself. If you would like to know some of our recommendations for places to eat  pop over to our questions page. 

Accommodation - During your Egyptian Goddess Workshop, we do not provide accommodation. It is your responsibility to find suitable accommodation. If you would like to know some of our recommendations pop over to our questions page.

Travel -You are responsible for organising your travel to and from our workshops. If you do not arrive at the workshop venue at the agreed time, we will start without you. Depending on what time you arrive you may not be able to join for the rest of the day. This will be down to the discretion of Cara and Nicky. We ask everyone to arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes before the workshop is due to start.

Leaving the workshop before the agreed end date - If for any reason you need to leave the workshop before the agreed end of the workshop, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Postage -

If you are buying from outside the UK. Please be aware that postage can be very slow..
Please keep this in mind when buying from us, be kind and be patient. Once the items are sent....We do not control the post, so please remember this. We are always happy to do what I can to help, so please feel free to message us with any issues.
All items are sent Royal Mail Special Delivery, so you will be able to track your order.  You will receive a tracking number once your item has been posted.

We am not responsible for any TAX or VAT of your items when entering the country of destination.

Returns -
Should an item not be as you expected, or you changed your mind. Please return it to Goddess Temple Retreats LTD in the same condition that you received it, well packaged for the journey ready to receive a refund. When returning unwanted goods, please note that we do not refund postage costs and you are responsible for the cost of returning an item. If you would like to return your item, please do so within 14 days and send the item tracked - please provied us with tracking information. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer will not be refunded and is responsible for any loss in value.

Packaging -

Where we can,  we reuse and recycled our packaging. So, if your item turns up in an Amazon box, it's not from Amazon it's just us trying to keep packaging costs down and trying to do our bit for the planet. The bubble wrap might be a little bit tatty, and the box might be random but always know your items will be very well packaged, so they travel safely to their new home! 

Shipping -

We try and get items packaged and shipped within 3-5 working days. If you have preordered an item please read the description when ordering to check approximate shipping dates.
